Kristi became interested in what might exist beyond that partial view, and in how a place might feel if the familiar rules of reality shifted slightly. Her landscapes sit somewhere between the recognisable and the impossible, familiar enough to trust and strange enough to question.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003ch5 class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm;\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN\" style=\"font-family: Montserrat; mso-fareast-font-family: Montserrat; mso-bidi-font-family: Montserrat;\"\u003eHer paintings often begin long before she enters the studio. Kristi draws inspiration from moments in daily life that create an immediate, visceral response: an unexpected colour relationship, a shape, a particular quality of light or the balance of a composition. When something creates that instinctive pull, she knows there is something in it worth carrying into a painting.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003ch5 class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm;\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN\" style=\"font-family: Montserrat; mso-fareast-font-family: Montserrat; mso-bidi-font-family: Montserrat;\"\u003eEach work begins as an abstract field of colour and light rather than a predetermined landscape.
